FECHIMM convenes its members to an extraordinary general assembly on Saturday, November 23 at 3:45 pm. Following the decision of the members to extend the territory of FECHIMM throughout Quebec at the 2019 AGM, the delegates will have to decide on the new name that the Federation will take in response to the request from the Ministère de l’Économie et de l’Innovation du Québec (Ministry of Economy and Innovation) to change the name of the Federation to reflect the new territory covered.
The Board of Directors will recommend that the members adopt a by-law amending the official name of the Fédération des coopératives d'habitation intermunicipale du Montréal métropolitain (FECHIMM) to Fédération de l’habitation coopérative du Québec (FHCQ), while retaining the current name as another name used at the Registraire des entreprises.
To obtain the right to vote, delegates will have to present a resolution adopted by the general assembly or the board of directors of their co-operative. Under the general by-laws of the Federation (FR), member cooperatives are entitled to two delegates per 50 homes and up to a maximum of six delegates.
The EGA will be held following the 2019 Reflection group. Centre St-Pierre (1212, rue Panet, Beaudry metro station) will host the meeting.
